The old town centre of Vibo Valentia, the beating heart of the Calabrian city, finally has a new face thanks to an ambitious urban requalification project that saw LAB23 play a leading role in the installation of furnishings conceived to improve the usability and aesthetics of public spaces.
This intervention represents a further step in the path of the company, for years synonymous with excellence in urban design and involved in major projects all over the world. From large European metropolises to the most striking urban contexts, in recent years LAB23 has distinguished itself for its ability to integrate innovative and sustainable solutions, always respecting the identity of the places in which it has operated.
Also in Vibo Valentia, the enhancement of this fascinating historic centre required a careful and targeted approach, with solutions that combine functionality, design and durability. This is why articles were selected that, with clean lines and state-of-the-art materials, dialogue harmoniously with the surrounding architecture, offering comfort and practicality to citizens and visitors.
An intervention that not only restores beauty to public spaces, but enhances their daily liveability, demonstrating once again how LAB23’s international experience can make a difference wherever it is called upon to operate.
The street furniture chosen for the historic centre of Vibo Valentia
Among the elements installed in Vibo Valentia is the Minamoro bench made of HPRC, a highly resistant composite material, perfect for ensuring longevity and minimal maintenance. Its essential design integrates perfectly with the urban context, offering a comfortable place to rest.
The Cekta bench, with its wooden seat and back, adds a touch of natural warmth, creating cosy spaces along the streets of the city centre. The wood, treated to resist weathering, retains its beauty over time.
To encourage sustainable mobility, Omega-P bike racks have been installed, with modern and essential lines, which allow bicycles to be parked safely, contributing to a more liveable and sustainable city.
Attention to detail is also reflected in the management of urban waste: the Minillero litter bin, equipped with four compartments and a rainproof cover, allows for efficient and orderly separate waste collection, while the Omega cigarette bin promotes urban decorum, offering a discreet and functional solution for the proper management of cigarette butts in the historic centre.
